The main elements in the artist's work are the strong graphic writing and the richness of colours, applied mainly through paintings, drawings and engravings.
The colours are expressions of the light, space and wind at the seashore in Brittany , the rhythm of the waves or birds' flight. It is enriched by every journey the artist has embarked in. Each piece is a link between nature and her everyday life. She tries to find the accurate writing, colours and texture to create an emotional space.
Fed by the works of masters such as Cézanne, Matisse, Rothko, Hantaï or Joan Mitchell, Sam Francis and Pollock for the delicacy of the colour-tones on his large canvases, the artist relishes her attentive exploration of colour. She builds her canvases roughly two meters high to give enough power to the gesture but keep intimacy in her work, so that it may speak gently, without ostentation.
After having worked with closed shapes that contained the space, in 2008 the artiste gave priority to frontal and open spaces inhabiting and interacting with the entire room rather than just providing a small window to her creativity. The paint is like mortar, made from sand, quartz and pigments that make colours vibrate. The strokes create a graphic game with the light. The work progresses line after line, from left to right, from top to bottom, like a letter written to a friend.
She also works at delicates pieces on paper for small scales where she plays with transparencies, textures that make codex like as echoes to the work on canvas. Every piece of work presents a rare screen of colours, resulting from the study and perception of a unique instant, like a piece of music. It transmits peacefulness, in a spirit of contemplation.
